Effort and Ease… Finding Balance

Life is finding the balance between effort and ease.

How do we create the balance between doing too much and straining, and doing too little and feeling like we’re not trying hard enough? It is delicate.

First we must be fully present when we enter experiences of discomfort, whether it emerges from the physical body, the mind, or the energetic body. Finding stability in the body and the mind while being is what can bring us into balance. Our mind will be present and observant. Our presence will start to give us clues about ourself and our patterns. Our brain actually changes with presence.

We are constantly in search of harmony between strength and stability, as well as, flexibility and freedom. Having too much of one and too little of the other creates imbalance.

To find the balance, (remembering the dual nature of life and the continuous swings of the pendulum from one side to the other) we must become aware of ourselves in our most natural state… is it in effort or ease, grit or self-compassion?

Each of us has a natural leaning. We must bring awareness of our tendencies and give a little more rope the other way…

No matter which end of the pendulum we are swinging at the moment, remember that it is that: a pendulum. And that aspiring to find balance will require change and intention – whether it’s to bring more effort or more ease into our life.

Doing the opposite of what is natural to us can bring about discomfort and resistance.  Yet the reward of finding a balanced and fulfilling life is worth it. As we learn to listen to ourself, it becomes easier to hit the note. There are times in our lives where we have no choice but to put in effort, work hard, push forward. There are times where life will force us to rest, let go, and pause. There is space for all.

The very nature of life manifests as the ebb and flow of light versus dark, strength versus weakness, good versus evil. Effort versus ease…

Here are some prompts to help you find your balance:

How do you know you are working hard?

How do you know you are surrendering?

What are these qualities in your body? Is there a way to hold both in the same moment? Are they exclusive?

What do you lean into? What is more natural for you?

Are you interested in working on your personal development? Are you looking for a life coach or a life consultant? Are you feeling stagnant? Do you want to jumpstart change?

My transformational approach is a process where awareness, alignment, and action work together as catalysts to create momentum for change.

*Awareness is knowing what you genuinely want and need.

*Alignment is the symmetry between our values and our actions. It means our inner and outer worlds match.

*Action is when you are conscious that what you say, do and think are in harmony with your values.

Together we build an understanding of what you want to accomplish, and delve deeply into building awareness around any thoughts and assumptions that you may already have. To truly transform your life, I will empower you to rethink what’s possible for you.
